Obviously, I may be the world's worst blogger- at least it would appear so. I wrote a long blog post in March, only to have it disappear when I *thought* I posted it. No doubt it was user error!

I'm inspired to try again and hope for success this time, since the new, improved kids book came out last month and I finally have copies in my inventory. So far the book is selling well. A lot of new young artists have been born since the first version of the book went out of print over a decade ago. It is one of the mysteries of publishing that my former publisher ceased publishing it. This year I learned that the whole company has gone out of business, so perhaps they made more than one poor decision.

This month I had the pleasure of helping with crafts at my church's Vacation Bible School, and as always, I feel like I got more than I gave. Working with kids is so inspiring. No matter what the project, they managed to create their own distinct versions! Of course, we painted rocks one day. The Bible story was about the plagues sent to Egypt to encourage the Pharaoh to let the enslaved children of God go. We painted frogs, and pasted on googly eyes. I collected frog shaped rocks and painted them white to make them easier to paint. The littlest kids used markers, while the older kids used acrylics.

I continue to enjoy hearing about the movement to paint and share rocks, and have even come across a few of them myself! Such a fun, low cost, long-lasting art form!
