A Small Sampling of What You Can Paint

Evelyn. an artist who lives and paints in Hawaii, sent me this photo of her display, featuring many of her painted rocks. Not only is hers a great example of marketing art work, but she also creates rocks that reflect the islands and therefore appeal to tourists. Some examples are colorful depictions of coral reefs complete with tropical fish, as well as Hawaiian women in leis. When you are thinking of painting rocks to sell, consider the things your area is known for. People collect rocks because they represent a 'piece of the place' they visited, so when that piece also depicts a scene, animal or character associated with the place, it makes for a perfect souvenir or gift.
